Those of us at School in the late 1950s will remember an English teacher Mr Oak(e)shott who lasted only a few months, presumably filling a gap, but whose personal details were not known to us.
There is a Mr Robert Oakeshott reported to have recently died aged 77 in 'The Economist', 'The Daily Telegraph' and 'The Times' who may or may not be the same person.
